Eric Sardinas
USA

Blues-rock guitarist from Fort Lauderdale, Eric Sardinas is renowned for his incendiary live performances, literally, as he sometimes sets his guitar on fire! His raw power on stage and mastery of the resonator guitar make him one of the most memorable figures in modern blues. A left-handed player who performs right-handed, he has developed a unique and overwhelming style, inspired since childhood by Delta blues legends like Patton, Broonzy, Elmore James, and Muddy Waters. In 1999, under the wing of Johnny Winter, he debuted with Treat Me Right, igniting the music scene with his blazing Dobro. This was followed by Devil’s Train (2001), which confirmed his explosive blend of respect for tradition and electric innovation. His concerts are pure energy: audiences are swept away by a storm of sound and passion. With Black Pearls (2003), recorded live by Eddie Kramer (Hendrix, Led Zeppelin), Sardinas captured the essence of his sound: no compromises, just fire and authenticity. In 2008, Eric Sardinas and Big Motor cemented his reputation as a fearless guitarist. After a long break—partly due to his rock'n'roll lifestyle, he returned to his roots in 2023 with Midnight Junction, a gritty manifesto of visceral blues-rock. This summer, after 13 years, Sardinas returns for the fourth time to Vallemaggia Magic Blues. Those who’ve seen him know what to expect: fire, furious slide guitar, and wild energy at full volume. Welcome back, Eric!

Bad Blues Quartet
Italy

The Bad Blues Quartet was formed in the summer of 2014 by Federico Valenti, Eleonora Usala, Frank Stara, and Simone Arca. The band began performing classics of the blues and modern sounds, from Elmore James to John Mayer, Muddy Waters, and Susan Tedeschi. Soon they felt the need to write their own songs, which quickly became the core of their repertoire, also presented at the “Sulle Strade del Blues” festival in Cagliari in 2015. In 2016 the group won the “Obiettivo BluesIn” contest of the Pistoia Blues Festival, performing on the main stage, and opened for Sarah Jane Morris at the Mammablues Festival in Nureci. On June 1st, 2017, they released their debut album “Bad Blues Quartet”, produced by Massimo Satta, which was warmly received by critics and audiences. They then played major festivals such as Narcao Blues and Vulcani – Blues nel Montiferru, and released the videos Snort Some Daisies and Nureci. In 2019, with new bassist Gabriele Loddo, they released “Back On My Feet”, recorded at Sonic Tower Records and published by Talk About Records, featuring eight tracks, both original and covers. In 2020 they took part in the Narcao Blues Festival and the video project “Sardinia Plays The Blues”. In 2021 they released “First Time Last Time”, a live album recorded in an empty theater during the pandemic. In 2022 they signed with Overdub Recordings, and in 2023 began recording a new album in Brescia, produced by award-winning American guitarist Mike Zito, in collaboration with Sweet Music and Slang Music.
