Larissa Baumann

CH

A fresh breeze is blowing from the Swiss soul and blues scene: Larissa Baumann captivates with her warm, deep voice and a charismatic, natural stage presence. A versatile and innovative artist, she moves gracefully between soul, blues, funk, and rock’n’roll, accompanied by a band of professional musicians from Switzerland, Italy, and the United States. Her passion for music began early: after studying music in Eastern Switzerland, where she focused on singing and piano, she performed as a jazz singer and pianist at numerous events and festivals, gaining valuable live experience. In 2010 came a turning point: she joined Jeff Turner (Australia) on his Christmas tour, beginning a long-lasting collaboration. This was followed by concerts with artists such as Ray Fein (Che & Ray), Toni Vescoli, and Nicolas Senn, which solidified her presence on the international scene. In 2014, at the 29th Pyongyang Spring Festival, she received the “Best Solo Performance” award. With her band, founded in 2015, Larissa wins over festivals and private concerts with passion and authenticity. In 2020, she released her debut album Gotta Break Free, an intense blend of blues, jazz, soul, and funk. In 2024, she returned with Showtime, an explosive album that radiates energy and the contagious joy of an artist who lives for music. In 2025, she won the Blues Music Awards Switzerland. This summer in Maggia: It’s showtime!

Take The 55

CH

The name Take The 55 was born from a love of the music that flows along the American highway I-55: from St. Louis to Memphis, Clarksdale, Jackson, New Orleans, and the Louisiana swamps. It’s there, in the heart of the South, that the band has spent years breathing in the authentic spirit of the Mississippi’s musical community. Their repertoire is a journey through the juke joints of Louisiana and Texas: legendary songs, familiar to those who live in those lands but rarely heard in Switzerland. No imitation here: every concert grows from intuition and interaction with the audience, exploding in energy and musical freedom. At Magic Blues, expect a fireworks display of high-energy southern roots music. Three frontmen share the stage and the repertoire: Andy Boller (vocals, piano), from Ohio, who has performed with the legendary Bo Diddley; Felix Hohl (vocals, guitar), formerly with Bo Katzmann; Lo Trottmann (vocals, pedal steel), who has shared the stage with icons like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. The solid rhythm section from Basel, Willie Surbeck (bass) and Philipp Hohl (drums), delivers relaxed grooves that let the band’s living sound breathe. As Surbeck says: “Take The 55 chase rhythmic secrets like the end of a rainbow. That’s why, at every concert, the audience hears sounds that even the band has never heard before.” Welcome to Magic Blues. Get ready for a journey down Highway I-55!
