Glenn Hughes - Performs classical Deep Purple Live

Glenn Hughes (London, 21 August 1951) is an English musician, best known for playing bass guitar and singing in Trapeze and Deep Purple's Mark III and IV line-ups, as well as briefly being the frontman of Black Sabbath. He is known to fans as 'The Voice of Rock' for his soulful and wide-ranging voice. In addition to being an active session man, Hughes still maintains a notable solo career. He was the frontman of California Breed from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, Hughes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple. Hughes was recruited to replace Roger Glover as bassist in Deep Purple in 1973, although he considered himself more of a singer than a bassist. David Coverdale was later hired as Deep Purple's singer. The two shared the lead vocalist role in the band for the next three albums Burn (1974), Stormbringer (1974) and Come Taste the Band (1975), until Deep Purple disbanded in 1976. He participated in Black Sabbath's album Seventh Star (1984). After a temporary health-related absence. Hughes made a comeback in the early 2000s with a long series of proposals and collaborations, including those with John Frusciante. He later founded the supergroup Black Country Communion (Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham, and Derek Sherinian) and in recent years was a member of The Dead Daisies. Since leaving The Dead Daisies, he has been touring the world with the project “Glenn Hughes performs classical Deep Purple” since 2023. A great event, in short, for Magic Rock Night.

Who doesn't know the legendary China from Winterthur? The most successful Swiss rock band of the 1980s and early 1990s is back! Founded in 1985, the band quickly achieved star status in Europe and Japan. Their first three albums China, followed by Sign In The Sky and Go All The Way reached the top 10 in the 'Swiss Hit Parade' music charts. Their second album even became a gold record. Not many at the time could compete with their live shows, charisma, and reputation as one of the best live acts in Europe. After several line-up changes and disbandments, in 2021 four members of the first line-up decided to come back and perform the songs that everyone missed and that the Swiss rock fans loved. It is said that whisky and wine only get better with age. Of course, this also applies to the die-hard and passionate 'Chinese' hard rockers. Singer Hardy Hartmeier will not only share the stage with guitarist Claudio Matteo, but both will be in good company, bringing along their old bandmates Freddy Scherer and Marc Lynn from Gotthard, to play unforgettable hits such as In the Middle of The Night, Sign In The Sky and Shout It Out. Rockers of the Vallemaggia Magic Blues, are you ready to feel nostalgic? Put your socks on! CHINA is back!!!
