Woodstock '69 on the Magic Blues stage: Miller Anderson returns. Scottish blues rock legend, guitarist of the Keef Hartley Band Opening act: Paolo Bonfanti.

An unmissable night! Miller Anderson, a living legend of British blues rock, returns to Magic Blues. A Scotsman, he arrived in London in 1965, playing with Ian Hunter before becoming the singer, guitarist, and main composer for the Keef Hartley Band, with whom he recorded five albums and took the stage at the legendary Woodstock '69. Throughout his career, he has played with Savoy Brown, Mountain, T-Rex, Donovan, and Deep Purple (longtime collaborator with Jon Lord). In recent years, he was a member of the Spencer Davis Group. Today, he leads the Miller Anderson Band on his final tour—refined slide, powerful wah-wah—embodying the authentic spirit of an unrepeatable era. A concert that is history, energy, and truth. A unique, historic, unmissable occasion. Welcome back to Vallemaggia Magic Blues!

Opening the night is the Paolo Bonfanti Band. Hailing from Genoa, Bonfanti holds a degree in Music Semiotics from Bologna. He led the Big Fat Mama before playing with legends like Dick Heckstall-Smith and Mickey Waller. He has performed at SXSW and Winfield, alongside Roy Rogers and John Popper. He has released acclaimed albums and instructional books for guitarists. In 2018, he received a lifetime achievement award at the European Blues Challenge. An unmissable night of blues.

Miller Anderson Band

UK

Miller Anderson is the guitarist who has played with all the greatest bands since the 1960s. Arriving in London in 1965 from Scotland, he played with Freddie Fingers Lee in a band that included future Mott the Hoople frontman Ian Hunter. He later joined the Keef Hartley Band (1968) as lead singer and guitarist, recording five albums as the main composer, guitarist, and vocalist. The band performed at the legendary Woodstock Festival in 1969, but due to a managerial oversight, their performance was not filmed. He has been a member of Savoy Brown, Mountain, T-Rex, Donovan’s band, and many others. He performed as a guest with Deep Purple, recording live at the Royal Albert Hall in 1999, and collaborated with Jon Lord until his passing. Over the past 15 years, he has been a member of the Spencer Davis Group and recorded several albums with other great musicians such as Chris Farlowe, Pete York, and more. After four years with the Hamburg Blues Band, in 2013 he returned to his own Miller Anderson Band, releasing five CDs, including Live in Vienna and the excellent Live at Herzberg Festival in 2019, a tribute to his Woodstock appearance. His distinctive style makes Miller Anderson one of the great blues rock guitarists. In particular, his skillful use of slide guitar and the energy of his Wah-Wah solos—never overdone—have cemented the reputation of this Woodstock veteran and Jimi Hendrix admirer as an extraordinary six-string virtuoso. Don’t miss the Miller Anderson Band, on tour for the last time!
